Our client is seeking an accomplished Business Development Officer to drive growth in their Small Business Administration (SBA) lending practice nationwide.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a high-impact role for a proven producer who wants to build meaningful relationships with small business owners while driving significant loan production. You'll have the autonomy to develop your territory, the support of a dedicated operations and underwriting team, and the backing of an institution that truly understands entrepreneurial lending.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Business Development & Origination:

- Originate SBA loans, equipment leasing, and Asset-Based Lending (ABL) transactions for small businesses nationwide

- Develop and cultivate relationships with small business owners, brokers, and referral partners

- Utilize networking, referrals, and strategic outreach to generate qualified business leads

- Develop and expand market penetration in assigned territories

- Demonstrate the value of the bank's entrepreneurial lending philosophy to prospective clients

Sales & Marketing:

- Collaborate with the Chief Business Development Officer and marketing team to develop sales strategy

- Generate leads and develop complete financing applications

- Recognize target market credit opportunities and present tailored funding solutions

- Submit loan packages to underwriting and present credits to Credit Committee

- Obtain customer-signed commitments post-approval and coordinate funding with Operations

Relationship Management:

- Provide oversight of all aspects of SBA customer relationships

- Manage risk, operations, underwriting coordination, and ongoing relationship stewardship

- Serve as trusted advisor to small business owners on their financing needs

- Build and maintain an active referral network

Performance:

- Achieve annual production goals

- Maintain active use of Salesforce and supporting origination systems to manage deal flow

- Track and report on pipeline, conversions, and market opportunities

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

- 5+ years of sales experience in financial services

- Strong SBA industry experience (non-negotiable)

- Proven production track record: $20MM+ in annual sales volume over the previous 3 years

- Marketing and risk management experience

- Strong credit analysis and commercial lending skills

- Working knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and loan structuring

- Solid understanding of the SBA Loan Program and regulatory requirements

- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

- Strong account relationship management and B2B sales abilities

- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems

Preferred:

- Active referral network in place

- Established broker relationships

- Experience with equipment leasing and ABL products
