Our client is seeking a talented Structural Engineer with 3-5 years of building design experience to join their collaborative, multi-discipline engineering team.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role offers the chance to work on diverse structural projects from concept through construction, applying advanced analysis techniques and collaborating with experienced Project Managers and multidisciplinary design teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Structural Analysis & Design:

- Perform structural analysis utilizing engineering first principles for all types of structural systems and elements

- Design gravity and lateral load-resisting systems for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood buildings

- Apply International Building Code and various other building codes to design solutions

- Advance structural engineering design, coordination, detailing, and drawing production for assigned projects

- Utilize state-of-the-art structural analysis and design software

Project Execution & Coordination:

- Work collaboratively with Project Managers and engineering teams to deliver complete structural designs

- Produce structural drawings and specifications

- Provide direction, guidance, and supervision to project staff as appropriate

- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other design team members throughout the project lifecycle

Communication & Documentation:

- Communicate effectively with clients and design team members both verbally and in writing

- Prepare technical reports and calculations packages

- Present design concepts and solutions clearly to project stakeholders

Construction Administration:

- Review contractor shop drawings for conformance with structural design intent

- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors

- Perform field observation site visits during construction

- Ensure built work aligns with design documents and engineering standards

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

- Bachelor's Degree or above in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)

- Passed either the NCEES Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam OR the NCEES Structural Engineering (SE) exam (SE preferred)

- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one state

- Minimum 4 years of relevant structural engineering experience in building design (advanced degree may be considered as relevant experience)

- Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles

- Experience designing building structures per the International Building Code

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multi-discipline environment

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Highly Desired:

- Experience with RAM Structural System, RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, and Revit Structure

- Proficiency with multiple structural analysis software platforms

- BIM/Revit Structure experience for 3D modeling and coordination

Preferred:

- Design experience with post-tensioned concrete structures

- Experience across multiple structural materials (steel, concrete, masonry, wood)

- Familiarity with multiple building codes beyond IBC

- SE license or progress toward SE licensure
